Working Therapeutically in Nature

Working Therapeutically in Nature

In the last few years, the popularity of taking therapy sessions into nature has increased and with the onset of the global pandemic, more and more therapists are taking their work outdoors. Many therapists report that outdoor work really helps their clients to connect with themselves and can often be beneficial to clients who have previously felt ‘stuck’. Research has shown that working outdoors with clients is beneficial for many common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and stress.

In this workshop we look at the theories and practice of eco therapy, nature therapy and Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) and how you can integrate these into the work that you already do with clients. As an experiential workshop we will be based in an outdoor setting and offer a variety of appropriate interventions for you to try.

We will also cover practical aspects of nature therapy including what you will need to do to prepare so that you can embark on this type of work, keeping your clients, and you, safe.

Please contact us if you would like to register interest in future dates for this workshop.
